February 8, the development team of open-source GNU Debugger (GDB) announced the latest version GDB 9.1. This release comes with notable feature improvements, including experimental support for multi-threaded symbol loading.

February 4, the development team of Electron, Github’s application building framework, announced the latest major release of Electron 8.0.0.  The base technologies, like Chromium, are upgraded, and there are a lot of new features.

February 4, Google released Google Chrome 80 (80.0.3987.87).  It includes HTTPS auto upgrade feature and improved support for SameSite Cookie.

February 4, the development team of No4j, a graph database, announced the GA release of Neo4j Graph Database 4.0 (development code Aura).  There are great improvements added to the release including the new responsive architecture.

January 30, the development team of Mozilla programming language Rust announced the release of Rust 1.41.0.

January 30, Hyperledger, a Linux Foundation project, announced Hyperledger Fabric 2.0, an open-source decentralized ledger platform.

January 30, Google released an open-source platform OpenSK, which allows developers to build original security key function.

January 28, open source email client Thunderbird development team announced that Thunderbird project was moving to MZLA Technologies, a subsidiary of Mozilla. By moving into a corporate entity, they will be able to have “more flexibility and agility” to develop new products and services.

January 29, the Document Foundation released LibreOffice 6.4, which is an open source productivity suite.

January 21, Microsoft announced that they open sourced the optimization technology that improves the performance of the inference which uses the natural language processing technology BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers). It is released as part of “ONNX Runtime,” which is the inference engine Microsoft provides.
