March 20, Cloud Foundry Foundation announced that ‘KubeCF’, developed by SUSE, has become an incubation project. KubeCF is an open source distribution of Cloud Foundry Application Runtime (CFAR) that runs on Kubernetes. They will provide support to allow applications that run on Cloud Foundry transition smoothly to Kubernetes.

March 16, GitHub announced that it has agreed to acquire npm, a JavaScript package managing platform. Financial details including the value of acquisition are not disclosed. Npm will continue to be offered for free, and npm integration with Github is a work in progress.
Let’s Encrypt Won the FSF’s Annual Award
