“Firefox 81” Released, with support for Acroform
September 22, Mozilla released “Firefox 81.0”, the latest version of its open-source web browser. It brings support for Acroform, a new theme, and easy access to control media.
Firefox 81 is the successor of version 80, released at the end of August. This latest version lets you play audio or video in Firefox right from your keyboard or headset. It gives easy access to control the media in another Firefox tab, another program, or even when the computer is locked. In regards to videos, Picture-in-Picture is improved, and thanks to the new iconography, it brings better usability.
In addition to the default, dark, and light themes, it introduces Alpenglow. It brings a purple-based colorful appearance to buttons, menus, and windows. Firefox introduces support for Acroform, which lets you fill in, print, and save supported PDF forms. Also, the PDF viewer is renewed. It now allows you to download and open .xml, .svg, and .webp files right in Firefox.
As to developer information, TypeScript files are now properly identified in Debugger panel and labeled with corresponding icons.
This release adds many bug fixes including security fixes.
