Firefox 75 Released, with improved address bar
April 7, Mozilla announced the latest version of the open-source web browser “Firefox 75”. With the revamped address bar, it has got a refreshed look.
Mozilla maintains its four-week release cycle. The latest Firefox 75 is the successor of Firefox 74, released in March.
The new address bar has got a fresh simplified look and feel with larger viewport, larger fonts, and shorter URLs. The search engine is even smarter. The keywords that are often used in autocomplete are shown in bold letters to help narrow down the search. There is also a new feature that lists frequently visited sites in a dropdown menu with one click on the address bar.
It includes a new feature that locally caches trusted Web PKI Certification Authority certificates. This improves HTTPS compatibility with misconfigured web servers and improve security,
For Windows, DirectComposition was integrated for the purpose of providing WebRender support for Windows 10 which runs on machines with built-in Intel graphics card.
For Linux, now Firefox is available in Flatpack, which is a distribution mechanism for desktop applications.
For developers, inspection and measuring tools are improved, and Instant Evaluation, which evaluates expressions in the Consoles, is added. In regards to web platform, there are numerous small updates (like Lazy Loading for images).
