Wine 5.2 Released, with improved support for UTF-8
February 16, the development team of “Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator)”, Windows API implementation to run Windows applications on Linux and BSD-based OS, announced the latest stable release “Wine 5.2”.
Wine 5.2 is the second point release of the version 5 series, released in January. The compatibility of the code page mapping table is improved, and now it supports using null display driver as a real driver.
UTF-8 support within the resources and message compliers is better now, and the issue that happens when the usingucrtbase as C runtime has been fixed.
They also improved the behavior of the applications, such as PDF-XChange Viewer, Lineage 2, OllyDbg 2.x., and worked on the implementation of Direct3DShaderValidatorCreate9(). They added many other small bug fixes.
