Qt Launched Qt marketplace

December 2, the Qt Company announced their Qt Marketplace, a marketplace to find and share Qt extensions developed by external developers. The developers can use this platform to offer and sell their creations.

Qt Marketplace is a marketplace designed for Qt (Qt, Qt Creator Plugins, tools, modules) users to find and get extensions.

Even if your Qt extension is already developed and integrated, you could still showcase it. You can even sell it with a price tag. In that case, you will be sharing the sales with Qt Marketplace. In the first year, the developer gets 75% of the sales price, and afterwards, 70%. There are two sales methods to choose from, outright purchase (one-time charge) or subscription.

When the marketplace was launched, there were already over 100 extensions, and among them were Felgo (free), which offers Qt API and other original tools for improving development efficiency , and Incredibuild (free), which allows you to use machine network that provides CPU power for Qt Creator users. For Qt Creators, there are QtcDevPlugin and RubyCreator.

By allowing users to browse extensions categorically and search by tag, marketplace is designed in a way that users can easily find what they are looking for. Also, from the next version of Qt Creator (version 4.12), Marketplace will be able to be accessed from Qt Creator. Their ultimate goal is to let developers find some related extensions from the Marketplace, while developing with Qt, and make is easy to install for immediate use.
